Lois Herr - PA State Senate, District 48

Inspired to address issues of equity, education, the economy, and the environment in ways that directly benefit everyday life.

Experienced by a career path that led through technology and business to farming, teaching, and public service.

From education funding and property tax reform to protecting the environment and investing in our communities and economy, Pennsylvania faces many challenges. Regardless of party, the residents of the Commonwealth generally agree on these priorities and we agree that we need to take action now.

Republican leadership refuses to work across the aisle to find real, common-sense solutions to the challenges we face and the result has been gridlock.

We deserve better. We deserve elected leaders who will put partisanship aside and work for the people who elected them. Throughout my career, I have worked to bring people together to find common ground and common sense solutions to complex issues. As your State Senator, I will use that experience to work tirelessly for each and every member of our community.

We agree that strong public schools are fundamental to our collective future as Pennsylvanians, and we must ensure access to high-quality public education. This is one of the most important duties of our state government. Standing up for our children, our teachers and for taxpayers while working to make sure that we invest in education will be one of my top priorities as your State Senator.

I believe we need to build an economy that works for everyone, and that starts with making strategic investments in our people, our communities and our Commonwealth that will form the foundation of economic growth both now and for generations to come.

Protecting the land, air, and water which we all share and upon which we all depend must be a priority for our elected leaders. As your State Senator, I will be an outspoken advocate for protecting our environment and making sure we all have a clean, safe and healthy environment.

Throughout my career, I have been involved in efforts to ensure equal opportunity and fair treatment. We all agree that Pennsylvania needs a fair system to choose the leaders who will represent us in government, that all of us deserve to be treated fairly by our government, and that we share in the responsibility of building a brighter future we all deserve.
